Having originally trained as an actor,
Alistair Barrie started on the comedy circuit in May 1998. Now a regular at
most of the major London club, he has also gigged as far afield as the
Edinburgh Festival, Bath and Plymouth, and has recently appeared in
Sydney and Melbourne. His
friendly and engaging style has led to a great deal of compering work,
but also masks a sharp and dry wit which can be turned to subjects as
diverse as Michael Jackson's take on the war in Kosovo to the English
inability to deal with weather. Despite a fondness for topical
material, Alistair also acknowledges that having a gynaecologist for a
father is a major bonus for any emerging comic.
'A name to look out for…he's going to
get better and better'
