Howard Read is an award-winning stand-up comic, writer and animator. As a stand-up, he has performed all over the world – including Dubai, Iceland, New York and Melbourne. He is an established headline act on the UK comedy circuit.

His show ‘The Big Howard Little Howard Show’ was the only British Nominee for the Perrier Award at the 2003 Edinburgh Fringe. He then took this show on a national tour, and to New York, Stockholm, Aspen and Melbourne. A unique combination of stand-up comedy and live, interactive animation, the star of the show is Little Howard, Read's six year old alter-ego who can respond to audience questions using a complex data-base of animated routines. Howard has now performed 4 shows with Little Howard, and in 2006 will branch into a new area with a brand new show specifically for family audiences. This show will play selected venues around the UK.

The Howards have appeared on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno. Bizarrely they also appeared together on Radio 4’s Four At The Store. As a stand-up, Howard has appeared on numerous shows including The World Stands Up (Paramount), and has also contributed pieces to Celebdaq and The Big Read (both BBC2). His short online cartoon Polar Bears In A Snowstorm won the BBC New Comedy Award for Animation.

His other writing credits for television and radio include Meet Ricky Gervais (Channel 4), The Eleven O'Clock Show (Channel 4), The In Crowd (Radio 4), and various interstitial cartoons on The Paramount Comedy Channel and Play UK.

He is also an established warm-up artist, having worked on shows including Black Books (Channel 4), Baddiel and Skinner Unplanned (ITV1), The Frank Skinner Show (ITV) and The Baddiel Syndrome (Sky One).
