Improviser and multi award winning
exponent of interactive standup Sully O’Sullivan’s performed
professionally in New Zealand, Canada, the USA and the UK.
A four season veteran of New Zealand’s
award winning TV standup showcase ‘Pulp Comedy’, in his last
New Zealand International Comedy Festival ‘The NZ Herald’ labelled
O’Sullivan one of the highlights of the televised international gala.
First stepping onto a standup stage in June of 1998, his talent gained
instant recognition as he won his first national standup award less
than 12 months later. 7 years on he’s been nominated for the NZ Comedy
Industry's supreme award by the NZ Comedy Trust, and by his fellow
performers for the title of NZ's Best MC.

international improv team, Sully O’Sullivan is also the creator of ‘XPROV:
extreme improvised comedy’, the only improv show ever to take home
a ‘NZ Comedy Guild’ award (4 stars, Fest Magazine, UK), and the
critically acclaimed ‘Scriptless’, the first solo improv show

player, comedy tutor and exponent of interactive stand-up, Sully
O’Sullivan slickly combines quintessentially Kiwi comedy with vocal
and physical audience participation.” The Dominion Post (NZ)
“Brilliant improvisational comedian from
New Zealand. A headline act for a long time down under, he’s now
starting to make his hilarious presence felt on these shores too.”

“The beauty of the 'Laughing Horse' is that it delves deep into, what
is commonly known as, the "heart" of the Fringe. In compère Sully
O'Sullivan, the first beats of this heart pulsate vigorously with
sparkling inter-continental observations.” 3 Weeks (UK)
“highlights of the younger part of local contingent were Flight of the
Conchords….and the punk-ish Sully O’Sullivan with his Q&A routine.”

REVIEWS - SOLO IMPROV
“Sully O’Sullivan’s one-man comedy show
during the TV2 Laugh Festival was an hour of energetic sweaty
improvisation hung around audience cues and a small array of props.
O’Sullivan’s quick thinking and linking of totally implausible
characters into a loose narrative were the making of the show.”
Express (NZ)
“I really doubt that it is possible to have a more interactive show…….
‘ONE MAN – FOUR CHARACTERS’. I counted at least eight and they ranged
from the absurd to the ridiculous….....Scriptless is the first solo
improvisation show ever produced.….It is an intense, zany and
extremely manic piece of comedy” Salient (NZ)
